At CROPS we are committed to helping the young people of Peterborough gain an understanding of the Christian Faith and its relevance to life today. To achieve this, the CROPS team provides educational and pastoral resources to schools through mentoring, RE curriculum input and spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Set up and supported by a broad selection of local churches and Christians for over 30 years, CROPS (**Christian Options in Peterborough Schools**) is a UK registered charity.

We fully subscribe to the guidance and code of conduct, “Religious Believers Visiting Schools”, published by the National Association of Teachers in Religious Education (NATRE) in 2007.

**About the role**

As CROPS Team Lead, you will work with the trustees to develop and implement the strategic plan for CROPS ministry, you will be a supportive and encouraging line manager of the CROPS team, enabling them to develop their strengths, allowing them to grow and develop. You will project manage and lead regular events, residentials and special projects, liaising with schools and other partners in the work. You will work with the treasurer in budget development and management, overseeing the fundraising strategy. You will hold the position of safeguarding lead.

You will have experience leading teams and working in schools and with churches. The CROPS team consists of two paid members of staff (Team Lead included) and a number of gifted and committed volunteers, as well as gap year students, whom you will line manage. You will not only maintain the current daily workload, but also seek out new opportunities, connecting with a range of agencies, organisations and churches.

You will have the support of a committed board of trustees drawn from the local church, business and educational communities. They are jointly responsible for the policy and direction of all activities of the charity working alongside our Team Leader.

**About you**

You will have at least 5 years’ full time youth work ministry experience in a local church, youth organisation or education setting and have an understanding of the complexities and challenges of working in a charity context. You will have a vision to see how Christians can effectively engage with schools and be able to communicate effectively with children, young people, parents, school leaders and church leaders. You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities and skills and be someone who can inspire, support and empower others - an enabler, delegator and team player. Most importantly you will be warm, personable and treat others with respect and appreciation.
