AND WHERE APPROPRIATE OUTSIDE REGULATORS ARE MET AND

ACTIVELY PROMOTE SUCH STANDARDS WITHIN THE HOME.

Skills Knowledge and Qualifications:
Essential:
Satisfactory PVG check

Two satisfactory references.

To be able to plan, cook and deliver the meal service.

Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen/dining areas.

Communication skills

To develop and maintain working relationships with residents and colleagues including maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

Basic administrative skills (i.e., to monitor and maintain stock records, financial records)

To have knowledge of statutory regulations related to food hygiene.

To have some knowledge of nutritional and dietary requirements

(Degrees or diplomas obtained abroad are acceptable if they are equivalent standard to UK qualifications)

SVQ Food Preparation Level II or equivalent

REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene

Desired:
Experience of working with older people or other vulnerable groups of people in a housing setting.

Main Responsibilities:
On a daily basis prepare, cook, and serve meals.

To prepare menus in consultation with the residents, being aware of each resident’s special cultural, dietary and health needs and undertake necessary changes of the food preparation.

To order and store provisions and maintain the corresponding monitoring forms.

To record and retain list of foods ordered.

To ensure the kitchen equipment and surrounding area is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness in accordance with food safety, infection control and health and safety standards.

To undertake periodic cleaning tasks with respect to equipment used within the kitchen.

To provide advice to new staff and casuals on food safety and health and safety standards whilst working in the kitchen and related areas.

To develop and maintain working relationships with residents and colleagues including maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

To advise the Care Manager or Deputy Manager of any observed concerns

Training & Development:
Participate in supervision sessions and be willing to be active in your own development, acquiring new skills and ongoing training.

Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site.

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
