**Job Purpose**:
We are looking for an Underwriting Administration Assistant to join our growing team of professionals.** **To provide administrative support to the Liability Underwriting Team based in Cardiff and our other regional offices. This role is ideal for someone looking for an administrative position within a close-knit team. Training will be provided.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supporting the Regional Office and all Underwriters to maximise efficiency in handling broker enquiries
- Logging new business enquiries and renewals into the Underwriting Quote Engine
- Requesting renewal information from brokers
- Setting up renewal review files
- Scanning and uploading documents to files
- Processing of declaration adjustments including liaising with solicitors to collect unpaid premiums
- Producing claims experience reports for brokers
- Answering incoming telephone calls from brokers
- Production and management of survey procedure for the local region
- Chasing ERNs
- Managing the consolidated ELTO database for binder business
- Dealing with account queries and liaising with the PAS team, accounts, brokers, cover holders, underwriters and other internal staff
- Quarterly reporting of terrorism exposures
- Monthly reporting of Offshore EL exposures
- Monthly reporting of Contract Certain policy counts to Compliance
- Dealing with routine MTA's on existing policies
- Processing of monthly bordereau in respect of cover holder business
- Following the Liability team's administrative procedures and dealing with issues that may arise
- Undertaking market / broker research for development purposes
- Assisting underwriters with the administration of delegated underwriting arrangements
- Assisting with the monitoring of broker binding authorities
- Assisting with marketing activities as and when required
- Attending and actively participating in meetings both locally and at other UK TMHCC Offices as is reasonably required
- Assisting other departments within the Professional Risks Division where required
- Undertaking any other ad hoc activities/project work that is required
**Performance Objectives**:
- To have gained an understanding of TMHCCs underwriting philosophy, risk selection criteria and cultural values
- To have demonstrated competent use of TMHCCs admin systems and compliance with our procedural processes
**Skills and Experience Specification**:
**Essential**:
- Minimum 3 A Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- A high level of IT literacy, including Word and Excel
- Excellent organisation skills
- An interest in working in the insurance industry
**Desirable**
- Relevant insurance qualifications
- Experience of working within a similar role
