**About Cȃr-Y-Môr**

Cȃr-Y-Môr is a Community Benefit Society based in Pembrokeshire, formed to improve the coastal environment and the well-being of the people who live by it.

A community benefit society (CBS) is the ultimate legal community business structure that is set up to bring benefit to a community, rather than benefit a select few.

A CBS unique legal set up:

- All members own one equal share
- Membership is open to all (for just £1) who support its aims so can keep growing
- Its shares cannot be traded
- Dividends, buyouts and takeovers cannot happen
- It can run community share offers

We currently have a team of 14 Working Members who each lead on various aspects of our business and over 250 non-working members and volunteers.

Our 3-hectare regenerative ocean farm in Ramsey Sound is Wales's first community-owned ocean farm. We grow seaweed, mussels, scallops and native oysters using a low-impact, zero-input farming method. There is no need for fertiliser, freshwater or antibiotics and in these Grade A waters, shellfish can go from farm to plate with no need for processing.

We also work closely with local day fishermen to process and market locally caught crab, lobster and other Welsh seasonal seafood. In the next 12 months, we plan to open a new shellfish and seaweed processing facility, that will amongst over things, process our farmed seaweed into bio-stimulant and fibre to be used to create bioplastics.

**About the Role**

As Cȃr-Y-Môr continues to grow, we are looking for someone with kitchen or processing experience to lead our kitchen operations. We require someone to oversee shellfish processing at our base in St Davids. The right person will be comfortable with looking after all our equipment, our processing kitchen, various storage facilities (full transparency - some in different states of disrepair), the polytunnel, and even equipment that supports the farm team out on the water.

Over the next 12 months we have exciting plans to develop our new seaweed and shellfish processing facility here at Clegyr Uchaf, and the role may also have the opportunity to support our project manager with the development of the new kitchen space.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain and develop our HACCP across the kitchen team
- Responsible for staff training and support
- Maintain and review all kitchen and processing logs
- Responsible for staff rota in the kitchen
- Quality control of all food related products
- Maintaining standard operating procedures for all kitchen processes
- Stock takes and ordering for all kitchen items
- Supporting the wider team whenever required

**Role Overview**
- Full time (however part time will be considered for the right person)
- Works closely with the other processing team leaders and sales teams
- Cȃr-Y-Môr is a farming business, reliant on tides, weather and small scale fishermen. Therefore weekend work and unconventional hours will be necessary

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Experience working in a kitchen or lab
- Experience of following HACCPs or similar safety procedures
- Able to work under the pressure of this Cȃr-Y-Môr start up phase
- Experience of working to a budget or working in a small business environment
- Attention to detail
- Organised, able to self-manage
- Excellent communication skills
- A willingness to commit to developing a unique type of business

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
