Transport Manager required at our established client in Bedfordshire.

Our client is an established, rapidly expanding company that creates a revolutionary customer hire experience within the construction industry. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, we are seeking a Transport Manager to lead and manage their Driversand Transport Schedulers, overseeing the daily transport operation, the scheduling of routes and the management of the van and lorry fleet.

Requirements for this role:
Valid and in date transport management CPC
2 years experience within Transport Management
Ability to hit the ground running within the role
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Management of the daily delivery operations, ensuring deliveries and collections are scheduled efficiently and on time in accordance with KPIs; resolving issues and identifying/rectifying root causes.
Management of daily scheduling of deliveries and collections, working within legal restrictions of vehicle weight and compliance
Ensure routes are scheduled to optimise efficiency whilst maintaining exceptional customer experience.
Management of the customer delivery and scheduling teams including performance, absence and overtime.
Management of the maintenance of vehicles to ensure they are in a safe and efficient operating condition.
Ensure complete and accurate service and maintenance records for the vehicle fleet.
Ensure all accidents and incidents are managed, reported and logged, following the process and working closely with colleagues and our insurance company.
Ensure compliance with the terms of conditions of our vehicle Fleet insurance policy, including reporting all accidents and incidents; liaison with Purchasing team regarding annual renewals.
Ensure compliance with FORS where applicable.
Recruit and induct new team members.
Report statistics and information regarding the transport operation to the management team.
Working closely to the Operations Manager and Operations Director to optimise profitabilty throughout the business.
Initiate and lead projects to improve systems and processes for efficiency within the business.
Providing excellent customer service and going the extra mile.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Support warehouse and workshop teams during quieter periods to optimise workforce.
Provide route scheduling cover for their absences and holidays.
Communicate well with other departments to ensure profitability and sustainability.

Hours:
This opportunity is Monday - Friday and hours will be 07:00 - 17:00.

**Salary**:
40000 - 45000
