You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will join an established team based in our Gatwick office. You will ensure that payroll for staff is processed correctly into the current payroll software ADP Freedom, whilst ensuring all queries are dealt with in line with the departments service level agreement. You'll also:
- Liaise with HR/Reward to ensure data received is complete and accurate.
- Assist in the checking of payroll data input.
- Prepare, check and process manual payments.
- Able to calculate Statutory Maternity Pay, Shared Parental Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay and Statutory Sick Pay.
- Assist with the various controls governing the payroll processes and offer solutions and ideas to maintain excellence.
- Comply with HMRC legislation at all times. Keep abreast of legislative changes and propose any necessary changes to ensure best practice and compliance.
You’ll be someone with:
- Payroll experience in a similar sized organisation.
- The ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
- Numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel (Lookups, formulas and pivot tables) and Word.
- A qualification or currently studying for a professional payroll qualification
- Previous experience using ADP Freedom payroll software - desirable
- Knowledge of Workday advantageous
- Have an in-depth knowledge of HMRC regulations
