**About us**

Hopes Grove Nurseries is a family run business in Tenterden. We primarily sell hedging plants online as a leading specialist grower operating from sites in Tenterden, Ninevah and Sandhurst supplying thousands of Gardeners, Landscapers and Farmers all over the UK.

Our work environment includes:

- warehouse
- potted nursery site
- field grown sites

We require applicants who will have a mixed role of outdoor and warehouse general nursery staff to assist our team with all aspects of the nursery production process and the preparation/packing of orders. This includes weeding, caning plants, potting plants & wrapping rootball plants in field.
- physically fit as the role is demanding and manual and fast paced
- able to follow both verbal and written instructions, working without supervision at times.
- show an ability to work in all weather conditions; sun and rain.
- have a good basic arithmetic to collect/pack orders accurately and quickly
- a full driving licence essential.
- excellent time keeping and reliability is essential.
- Working hours are 7.30am -4pm Mon-Thurs, 7.30am-3pm Friday (39 hours per week on zero hours contract for first probation 6 month)
- Previous horticultural/nursery experience would be an advantage as would outdoor worker or manual worker.
- Pay £10-12 per hour, age and experience dependent.
- Overtime paid at 1.5 rate once 39 hour week completed, this will be expected as required and on Saturday 7:30-1pm Oct-April in peak season
- Holiday 20 days plus 8 bank holidays (need to keep 5 days for Christmas holiday, holidays to be taken between April and October)
- Nest pension
- 6 month probationary period needs to be successfully completed.

Pay: £10.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
