Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We're seeking a dynamic and experienced **Estimator** **to join our** Painter Brothers** team in **Hereford or Scotland **and play a pivotal role in driving excellence in rail operations.
**Painter Brothers** **is one of the UK's leading specialist in structural steel manufacture. We have the capacity to produce in excess of 15,000 tones of steelwork each year. Our 50,000m2 site has a wide range of machinery meaning we can manufacture and store any type of structural steelwork, including galvanised specialist structural steelwork.

**What you'll be doing**
- Ensure that the Rail Systems strategy for Growth and Industry Margins is achieved through ensuring our value is ‘sold’ to our customers.
- Take the lead on small/medium size bids to ensure that tender deliverables are produced in a timely and effective manner.
- Support the management of workload as required within the bid team.
- Support and/or interrogate design options and ‘value’ solutions, identifying the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimation principles.
- Review tender documents and submission requirements, ensuring all financial information is identified and provided and accurate and compliant design proposals are included.
- Select suitable sub-contractors and specialists for each project.
- Ensure all tender documentation, approvals and customer correspondence is saved within SharePoint under the correct tender folder.
- Prepare cost information and tender submissions for senior management.
- Carry out monthly chase up calls for outstanding submitted tenders.
- Manage and coordinate the preparation of preliminary and general expense pricing, including plant schedules and risk assessment
**Who we're looking for**
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing sectors gained either through direct experience of delivery and / or direct experience of sales / bidding activity.
- A demonstrable ability to achieve sales targets, build customer portfolios, and identify cross sales opportunities.
- Experience of working collaboratively within a high pressure team environment and meeting key deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of pricing and quantification methods.
- Proficiency in IT, numeracy and MS Office & estimating systems.
- Demonstrate integrity and a professional image at all times.
