Perth, United Kingdom PKAVS Full time

**Background**

PKAVS is a leading charity in Perth & Kinross, enhancing lives and connecting communities through diverse services in the areas of Carers, Mental Wellbeing, Third Sector support and Volunteering. Every year PKAVS enhances the lives of over 5,000 local people, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

Shopmobility is a PKAVS project which lends wheelchairs and motorised scooters to people who have mobility problems.

The project is a lifeline to older and disabled people living in or visiting Perth city centre by allowing them to retain their independence and continue taking part in community life and everyday activities, such as shopping or visiting friends.

To help people to get out and about, Shopmobility lends out scooters and wheelchairs on a temporary basis. This gives people a sense of freedom and independence which can change people’s lives.

We also recognise that mobility equipment requires regular maintenance to ensure it is safe and in good working order. Many disabled people are unable to carry out these checks themselves, and whilst we always recommend that clients always have their mobility scooter serviced annually by an authorised dealer, in between times, we offer maintenance checks and repairs if we can.
