Area Leader

The Farplants Group are the trusted outdoor plant supplier to hundreds of garden retailers throughout the UK, growing over 11 million plants a year. Our customers can choose from over 2000 varieties, all of which have been selected for their outstanding performance, sell-through and bench appeal.

We’re looking for a full time Area Leader - lates/night shift, working an average of 39 hours per week, on an annualised basis.

The role of the night shift is to prepare and despatch the completed customer trolleys to the very highest standards that our customers have come to expect from Farplants. To support this, we have resilient and tested processes in place, as well as excellent initial and ongoing training and coaching. Every role in our Finishing Centre revolves around four main principles of Quality, Efficiency, Effectiveness and Collaboration. These are the principles that you be delivering against, which will also help you to make decisions and supervise your team.

The Finishing Centre operates different working patterns during the different seasons of the year. In peak season (early spring through to late summer usually), the night shift will operate 12-hour shifts from around 5 pm, Sunday to Thursday and out of peak season will operate with earlier start times and shorter shifts, Monday to Thursday, these can start from around 4 pm with support being provided on Fridays to the day shift (where required).

This role may be physically demanding at times with an element of heavy lifting involved.

Required skills, experience and qualities:

- The ability to multi-task
- Organised
- Ability to learn and work with internal digital systems
- High levels of integrity and honesty
- Minimum 2 years leadership experience (managing a minimum of 5 people)
- Previous experience working within a factory experience is desirable but not essential

The Area Leader will be working an average of 39 hours per week, on an annualised basis.

The Area Leader will need to be able to work flexible hours (5 out of 7 days in peak, including Bank Holidays and Weekends)

This role is based at our Finishing Centre in Barnham. Which is easily commutable from Chichester, Bognor, A27 Corridor.
