Pension Transfer Specialist

My client is a retirement specialist - helping clients to improve their financial future. They work with hundreds of organisations across both the private and public sector by offering financial education, guidance and regulated financial advice. Their financialeducation and guidance services are delivered on a bespoke basis and can be specifically designed to help the entire workforce make informed decisions about their finances. This can be delivered face-to-face or online and utilises digital nudge technologyto encourage employee engagement and participation.
They also provide regulated financial advice to support those who need specific recommendations regarding their savings and investments, including those who need to make important decisions about their retirement income options. This service also supportsthose in retirement who may need to adapt their retirement planning in line with their changing needs.
**Job summary**
To provide personal recommendations to retail investment clients in respect of pension schemes with safeguarded benefits. The role is office-based and involves working in conjunction with a team of field-based advisers. In addition to advising on pensiontransfers, the role also involves providing general technical pension support as well as authorising pension switches.
**Core responsibilities**
Review of transferring pension scheme information, carry out relevant analysis (including completing cash flow modelling to demonstrate sustainability, when relevant) and reviewing risk profiles of clients Identify outstanding pension information as required.Ensure all client information and facts are up to date for analysis to be undertaken Provide a personal recommendation in relation to pension transfers. Prepare client reports in relation to pension transfers, pension switches and retirement income options.Liaise with Advisers and keep up to date of progress and any outstanding requirements. Liaise with ceding pension schemes/providers to obtain pension information as required. Liaise closely with other teams and with 3rd parties. Ensure all paperwork is compliantwithin company and FCA guidelines.Provide response to technical queries. Provide comprehensive support to Advisers. Maintain technical and industry knowledge and continual professional development. Diary and activity management, maintain service levels andundertake work within agreed timescales.
**Essential skills/experience**
Good understanding of UK financial services, regulation and ethics with strong pension and investment knowledge. Understand the implications of current pension rules. Understand and be able to calculate allowable pension contributions taking into considerationexisting pension arrangements, the Annual Allowance and carry forward Understand and be able to calculate the effects of pension contribution tax relief on an individual’s tax computation Understand and be able to explain clearly the impact of pension rulesfor high earners in respect of the Annual and Lifetime Allowance including transitional protection. Explain and understand the features of all the various pension schemes available and provide guidance and advice on suitability for transfer. Understand availablepension income options and associated death benefits including annuities, phased retirement, and income drawdown options Experience in providing pension transfer advice (including defined benefit schemes) and carrying out appropriate analysis, including cashflo.w Experience in providing opt-out advice resulting from LTA issues. Thorough approach to work, with good attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Accurate and numerate with the ability to work to deadlines and have proventime management skills. Ability to work on own and as part of a team Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
