Due to the demand this January, Academics are looking to expand our cohort of Education Practitioners (also known as Cover Supervisors) for our partnership secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent.

What is a Education Practitioner (Cover Supervisor)?
- Education Practitioners are used in secondary schools to provide cover for a class when a teacher is not available. They are employed on a flexible and day-to-day basis to ensure that a teacher can have time away from the classroom to carry out otherduties (planning, assessment, or training days). They may also cover lessons for teachers who are away from school due to sickness or for other absences. An Education Practitioner is not responsible for planning or assessing a lesson. The class teacher willset work for students to complete and the Education Practitioner will ensure that pupils remain on task. _

As an Academics Education Practitioner, you will need:

- _At least 6 week's experience in an environment working with children or teenagers._
- _A positive can do attitude to respond to busy schools. Calls for work can be from 7:00am in the morning _
- _Able to get to schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire by 8.30am with 30-60 minute's notice._
- _Can work flexible between Monday to Friday. Usual working hours are between 8.30am-3.30pm _
- _Working as a Teaching Assistant in Primary, Secondary or SEN schools_
- _Sports Coaching/Youth work_
- _Drama or Art Workshops/ Drama School/ Theatre in Education_
- _Working in Sunday Schools, Mosques or Synagogue schools_
- _After School Club/Summer Camp_
- _Scouts/Guides/Brownies /Cubs/Rainbows_
- _Outdoor Activities Instructor_
- _Teaching abroad, teaching adults or tutoring _
- _Or any other experience of working with groups of children._
