**Supply Chain & Logistics Manager**

**Burnley - Site based but flexibility available**

**Leading Manufacturing & Supply business**

My client are a leading Manufacturing organisation based in Burnley, Lancashire who are looking to secure an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead their Supply Chain and Logistics team of 4.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead and develop the internal operational supply chain function, MRP including stock control and logistics.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Team Management**
- In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, communicate and engage with the team to enable performance in line with Operations Strategy and Company objectives.
- Develop, support, and monitor direct reports through motivation, performance management (121s) and counsel.
- Foster cross departmental collaboration, communication, and continual improvements to ensure customer excellence is always attained.
- Facilitate commercial partnerships, ensuring quality of service is maintained and balanced with cost efficiency's.
- Define and monitor supplier KPIs.
- Ensure own and team's compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
- Continually evaluate and improve upon relevant internal practices.
- Suggest and implement savings projects both internally and across third parties.
- Solve logístical and supply chain complications in a methodical and proactive manner - including appropriate communications with relevant internal stakeholders, whilst encouraging your team to adopt the same approaches.
- Provide monthly management reports.

**Supply Chain**
- Manage SKUs and Stock Control, optimising availability, and demand predictions within a pre-determined budget - ultimately aiming to achieve the business aims for customer service excellence with effective overheads management.
- Provide lifecycle and gap information for phasing out and planning/ scoping new products.
- Source new suppliers and carriers where relevant, ensuring routes and planning schedules are cost effective.
- Manage the costings matrix.
- Implement and oversee improvements to demand and capacity planning.
- To ensure own product specification knowledge is relevant and up-to date via a wider understanding of supply chain practices and processes.
- To collaborate in the supplier vetting process.
- Achieve and develop lean supply chain and logistics practices, minimising procurement costs and cash used. Reduce risk through currency purchases and raise awareness of the impact of any changes.

**Logistics**
- Lead the logistics team in ensuring a seamless shipping service which is maintained and managed in line with a variety of customer needs throughout the UK and overseas.
- Negotiate and secure competitive shipping options, with assurance OTIF and quality of service is maintained.
- Build and maintain logistics supplier relationships and monitor their performance.
- Ensure shipping processes and customs export documentation requirements are carried out.
- Facilitate communication with the customer service team to update and answer shipping statuses.
- Facilitate and manage Logistics improvement projects.

**Person Specification**
- Previous managerial experience, leading and delegating to others.
- Relevant qualification linked to knowledge areas (or significant level of experience). Example qualifications include CIPS, CSCP, Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Positive attitude and ability to think outside the box.
- Detail orientated, with ability to work within time constraints.
- Negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and customs practices on a global scale.
- Commercial "bigger picture" thinking with customer service excellence placed at the forefront.
- Ability to engage with others to successfully onboard new ideas.
- A focus on high quality deliverables within a broad and changeable environment (i.e., resilience and flexibility).
- Able to demonstrate personal accountability for decisions and actions, showing good judgement or seeking advice from others' where appropriate.
- Willingness to develop self and others, is naturally curious and comfortable in tactfully challenging the status quo.
- Working knowledge of IT and Supply Chain technologies and techniques.
- Working knowledge of warehousing and logistics.
- Working knowledge of product, including an understanding of marketplace demands and business acumen linked to B2B component specification linked products.
- Awareness of international trading and legal issues.
- Relationship management across suppliers, team members and other related stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous Supply Chain experience within an operational setting. You will assist in the delivery of the growth strategy set by the COO and support the day to day management of the function as the business continueto grow.
