Summary To provide a high quality administrative and clerical officer role to the Department. Management of all clinic and diagnostic appointments. Provide Reception Duties, greeting patients and relatives & deals with queries from patients, visitors & staff. Liaise with clinical staff to ensure excellent standard of care.

Specific Core Functions Deal correspondence, urgent clinic letters, reports and request forms according to Trust and Radiology departmental protocols. Provide a receptionist service for the ward/clinic, liaising with patients, visitors and medical staff appropriately and passing their queries on to an appropriate clinician when required. Filing hard and soft copies of all documentation. Liaise with Consultants secretaries.

Communicate with other healthcare providers. Track notes on the PAS system and act on any requests, distributing as required and ensuring they are received and stored correctly within the Department. Ensure the department functions effectively and efficiently at all times. Ensure the needs of the service are met at all times delivering effective patient care.

Allocation of referrals for procedures to Radiology lists, smooth and efficient running of department and adjust lists as appropriately requested. Rebook lists and assist with the coordination for the maximum use of all available activity. General administration within patient management systems within the office including preparation of Department clinics, clinic templates use of PAS system to book appointments, dealing with patient and professional enquiries by post, fax and telephone. Booking of hospital transport for patients.

Efficient patient management within the Department. To update and maintain Radiologys databases efficiently. Book diagnostic tests in accordance with policy.
