**Quality & Auditing Technician**

**Role & Responsibilities of the Quality & Auditing Technician**:

- Monitor and report on the quality and service from all external suppliers, including OEM’s of factored goods, and raw materials.
- Investigate all service and quality issues raised internally or by customers that relate to suppliers, arranging containment actions where required, and ensuring the supplier identifies root cause and implements robust corrective actions.
- Work with all suppliers to develop and implement process improvement plans, as well as performance metrics
- Carry out supplier audits for existing OEM suppliers, covering Technical, Quality and Ethical
- Identify potential new OEM suppliers and carry out audits to determine their capability and in turn provide recommendations back to the business.
- Provide support for the procurement team as part of any negotiation process with all suppliers.
- Provide support to material control to ensure smooth flow of goods, meeting or exceeding our service and quality expectations for all suppliers, including our OEM’s.
- Work closely with the R&D and Technical Service team to ensure that any potential new products meet all necessary technical, performance and quality criteria.
- Ensure suppliers, including OEM’s, meet the design requirements consistently and any new or current regulations as defined by the technical department.
- Work alongside product management and sales to ensure all suppliers can meet product quality and service requirements.
- Support the new product introduction process (PIP), ensuring goods from external suppliers meet product and packing specifications, and when necessary report on progress.
- Work with suppliers to ensure that packaging consistently conforms to specification and is suitable for outbound supply chain.
- Support the documentation of supplier development processes including supplier audits and supplier quality processes.
- Monitor the new product development activity of our competitors to benchmark and establish opportunities, liaising with R&D to ensure competitive and OEM samples are regularly supplied, tracked, and tested accordingly. When appropriate, OEM products testresults should be communicated back to those suppliers following our internal business system procedures.
- Produce concise weekly and 4 weekly reports of progress
- Carry out other duties as required and requested by line manager in line with the job purpose.
- Meet health and safety requirements as specified in the Health and Safety policy.

**About You as the Quality & Auditing Technician**:

- Proven experience as a lead auditor
- Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001
- Experience of working with overseas suppliers in a supplier development or auditing role.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as will be representing the company with overseas suppliers, often on their own.
- Collaborative Team Working.
- Problem Solving.
- Full Drivers licence will be essential as there may be some travel between sites.
