QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT TRAINING
ESSENTIAL
Level 3 advance gym instructor
Recognised level 3 GP Referral Qualification
Recognised level 4 qualification or working towards one.
Level 2 group work qualification (e.g., circuits/exercise to music)
First Aid and CPR qualified

DESIRABLE
Health and Fitness related Degree
Registered at Level 3/4 CIMSPA
Walking Way to Health leaders training
Defibrillator training

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
At least two years’ experience within a Health and Fitness environment including the initiation and delivery of Health and Fitness services to the public and special populations.
If applicant is to work with level 4 conditions at least 2 years’ experience in an exercise referral scheme.
Be I.T. literate and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms, particularly the ability linked to all aspects of virtual session delivery, hosting and attending virtual meetings, delivering face-to-face and virtual assessments / consultations, and completing all office / home working responsibilities.

DESIRABLE
Experience of working on a GP Exercise Referral Scheme or a Chronic condition rehabilitation scheme.

SKILLS AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Confidence and competence in delivering exercise programmes/classes for special populations.
To be committed to customer care and to providing an efficient and effective quality service.
Possess good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to talk to clients / customers face to face, on the telephone and in writing. Awareness of GDPR
IT literate-competent with Microsoft office, internet, and data monitoring systems excel /access etc.
Work under pressure and have good organisational skills to manage workload effectively and ensure accurate data collection.
Possess ability to make decisions and diffuse difficult situations.
Be able to work with own initiative and work in a team environment by developing effective and constructive working relationships with colleagues.

DESIRABLE
The ability to communicate in the medium of Welsh.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL
Listening and Speaking - Higher Level
Able to follow a conversation or discussion through the medium of Welsh and English on a professional level and discuss general day to day topics in the field in order to present information and express opinions. Able to give a pre-prepared presentation and respond to any comments and questions on it in Welsh or English.

Reading and Understanding - Intermediate Level
Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work. Understand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points. (help may be required with the vocabulary).

Writing - Intermediate Level

Purpose of the Post.
- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- The post holder will be responsible for delivering a local Exercise Referral Programme with an overall objective of contributing to a National Exercise Referral Scheme and improving the physical activity levels and health of the people in Wales.

Responsibility for functions. e.g. staff, budgets, equipment

Main Duties
- Working closely with the Exercise Referral Co-ordinator you will be required to, in your role of Exercise Referral Professional, educate encourage, support and signpost service users to the most appropriate form of physical activity.
- You will review personal activity programmes, give initial consultations, fitness inductions, perform progress reviews and carry out pre/post assessments with customers who have been referred from their doctor or other health professional. The exercise referral scheme is about helping people who are most at risk to enjoy a more active lifestyle.
