**General Farm Worker**

Low Knockglass Farm, Stranraer

Challoch Farm, Leswalt

Main purposes of job

Feeding calves, feeding youngstock, feeding dairy cattle

Working with cattle and other livestock and maintaining animal welfare

General yard work, maintaining cleanliness of facilities, cleaning out livestock and bedding

Key tasks

Calf rearing will include: Feeding calves from birth to leaving the farm and maintaining high animal health standards and cleanliness - for example colostrum management, cleaning feeders, ensuring calf milk machines are working appropriately, ensuring clean water supply, clean beds, calves are moved into age groups appropriately, any sick animals are identified and appropriately triaged. Other tasks as required.

Split shifts, calf feeding morning and afternoon.

Feeding and checking youngstock, ensuring facilities are clean and identifying animals in need of review.

Farm machinery may include ATV with or without trailer.

Extra duties maybe required at busy times as per needs of the business and exact work may vary from season to season.

Driving license desirable

Previous experience desirable but training will be provided.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 39 per week
