This role does require travel to various bases throughout Somerset but much of our support to schools can also be carried out remotely.

**What will I be doing?**
Educational Financial Services (EFS) is a well-established team providing financial support to schools and academies throughout Somerset - and you’ll be a key part of that.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

- Advising key school and academy personnel in financial management and administration - you will be instrumental in providing financial support which is delivered both remotely and on site.
- Providing budget planning guidance, financial monitoring advice and training support to those schools and academies for whom you are the designated Senior Finance Officer.
- Liaising with corporate colleagues where additional analysis and investigative work is required to support schools in challenging financial situations.

**What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?**

- Are a strong team player, able to work well during periods of increased workload pressure due to service demands.
- Have knowledge and experience of financial management in a school/academy setting.
- Are ICT literate including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel and Word)
- Have GCSEs in Maths and English - Minimum grade C./4
- Have strong communication skills which enable you to interact confidently at all levels.

**Anything else I should know?**
The salary for the role is Grade 11, ranging from £28,371 to £32,020 per annum
