You will support the AML/ Financial Crime controls environment by monitoring key controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively. Assist the broader business (and external vendors) by providing AML expertise to ensure Vanguard is meeting the regulatory requirements.

**In this role you will need to have/be**:

- An expert in all AML/KYC aspects (key referral point for business and vendors)
- SME for AML/FC related projects
- Make AML decisions and grant exceptions (in line with our internal FC R&R matrix)
- Provide team and wider business with AML/FC training
- Identify where efficiencies and improvements can be made in processes and controls and work with other crew to move these forwards (gap analysis)
- SME/Lead for implementation of any regulatory updates and enhancements
- Help implement/embed any new AML related tasks/processes into the team
- Share AML related news/updates with relevant Vanguard crew
- Work with AFC to manage AML/FC risk and ensure AMLO are adhering to AFC policies and standards
- Create, manage, and maintain internal procedures/guides
- Take ownership and drive changes (Client Services Operations process - system/process changes)
- Lead and attend (as SME) internal and external meetings
- Act as delegate for manager for AML related matters (where required)
- Continuous self-learning and development in the AML/FC space
- Lead vendor AML relations and take part in annual / ad-hoc due diligence and deep dive (and manage output and actions)
- Responsible for managing any internal/external audit reviews (own/manage actions)
- Assist AFC with data/MI gathering for any ad-hoc/board reports/FCA requests etc
- Review and manage AML related complaint/risk event data and work with internal external parties to reduce errors/improve processes

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

**Skills and attributes**:

- AML experience (minimum of 5 years), preferably with ICA Certs and experience in Corporate AML requirements/Transaction Monitoring/Screening
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Experience testing, designing or evaluating workflows and other systems (preferred).
- Ownership of tasks and completion of actions
- Can take own initiative (proactive)
- Good planning and organisation skills
- Can manage multiple tasks/processes - projects, BAU etc
- Able to prioritise and manage own time/workload with little supervision
- Able to work alone, but also a team player (very important)
- Able to challenge and provide thoughts/ideas
- Strong problem solving/analytical and decision-making skills
- Anility to investigation and provide recommendations to the business/compliance
- Can self-motivate and motivate others
- Great attention to detail and can spot errors
- Able to assess risk and ensure these are managed appropriately
- Good Microsoft excel skills (preferred) and other tools (PowerBI etc)

**You may be required to complete BAU tasks, depending on volumes and resource**
