**Job overview**:
Hi my name is James and I am the Community Team Manager for the CFYP LAAC team we have fantastic opportunity for a qualified Mental Health Practitioner to join us.

The CFYP LAAC team works to support the mental health needs of Looked After and Adopted Children, specialising in supporting children who have attachment difficulties or have experienced developmental trauma. Our work includes working with carers’ groups, foster care groups, work with residential care teams and systemic work with families and multi-agency teams always with a clear focus on improving outcomes for children looked after. If you feel you would enjoy working within in a multi-disciplinary team committed to dividing both direct work and consultation with other professionals, you will be well suited to this role.

**Main duties of the job**:
The role will involve both direct and indirect work with children, families and the wider system including assessment, intervention, consultation, training, liaison and signposting to other services. You will be supported to take a creative and ambitious approach to work, in order to ensure that children looked after are able to experience stability and security as they grow up.

- Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology or equivalent
- Mentorship qualification or ENB 998. Willingness to train to become Sign-off Mentor
- Ongoing professional development working towards degree level
- Higher degree or post graduate certificate in area of clinical / therapeutic practice

**Desirable criteria**:

- Good to great management course, or equivalent

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
- Demonstrate effective risk assessment and risk management experience
- Experience in the delivery of clinical interventions
- Experience in working in team delivering person centred treatment packages

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience in delivering group based interventions
- Experience in supporting service development

**Skills**:
