We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Subject Leader of Maths to make a significant contribution across years 5 to 8 at Hexham Middle School. We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic professional who places pupil success at the heart of what they do. The Subject Leader of Maths is responsible for shaping our pupils to be respectful young people who have a strong engagement in their mathematics learning and who have high aspirations for themselves and their futures.

We are a large and flourishing middle school set in the historical market town of Hexham and are co-located with Queen Elizabeth High School as part of Hadrian Learning Trust. In September 2021, we moved into brand new school buildings with state-of-the-art learning facilities. We cherish the strong partnerships that exist between pupils, parents/carers, staff and the local community making this a successful, friendly and welcoming school. Pupils at Hexham Middle School have an eagerness to learn and achieve very well academically. We pride ourselves on the care we give the children at HMS.

You will be at the forefront of leading the mathematics curriculum in both key stages 2 and 3 to build on the excellent academic achievements of our pupils. You will lead the consistent implementation of the ambitious curriculum to ensure the intended impact for all pupils. You will work with colleagues, children and their parents/carers to build strong, positive relationships to enable all children to fulfil their potential. You will be ambitious for the success of all learners and will establish an environment where high expectations are embedded.

We have high expectations of behaviour and attitudes and strive to enhance the personal development of our pupils through a well-sequenced curriculum experience.
