**Job Description**:
**The Role**

This role also includes some support tasks within the team, such as laboratory cleaning and reagent preparation, and although rarely requested, this role may require the production of a suitable witness statement and attendance at Courts of Law.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Carry out examination / analysis of submitted exhibits to required timescales, following suitable training and demonstrable competencies.
- Adhere to all aspects of our Customer Operational Protocols, Health and Safety requirements and the Eurofins Quality Management System.
- Ensure all notes are contemporaneous recorded as per standard operating procedures.
- Take responsibility for maintaining the integrity and continuity of exhibits.
- Communicate with other scientists as appropriate throughout the lifetime of a case.
- Assisting with laboratory housekeeping duties including preparation of reagents, maintenance of equipment and laboratory cleaning

**Qualifications**:
**Required Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills**
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Understanding and acceptance of the requirement for full adherence to the Forensic Regulators Code of Practice

**Preferred Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills**
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory based role, preferably UKAS accredited to ISO17025 standard
- A demonstrable understanding of forensic techniques and analysis utilised in the analysis of drugs, such as chemical tests, FTIR and GCMS
