We are seeking a competent and motivated individual to work within our ANTENATAL CLINIC at Nottingham University Hospitals.

The post is part time/ full time hours based at both City and QMC campus as required due to service need. Our antenatal support workers play a pivotal role within our multi-professional team, providing support to the team and high-quality care to pregnant women in line with national recommendations. The role is demanding yet rewarding.

The role entails undertaking observations when patients attend Antenatal Clinic as well as taking blood for investigations. Chaperoning patients during examinations is a key part of the role as well as ordering stock and ensuring the smooth running of clinic.

Main duties of the job

- The role entails undertaking observations BP, pulse, urine testing etc when patients attend Antenatal Clinic.
- Taking blood for investigations.
- Support women during their visit to clinic.
- Supporting the midwives to ensure the smooth running of clinic

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Following appropriate training and assessment of competence undertake identified clinical and non-nursing duties.
- Required to carry out a number of designated tasks, of which will involve direct care, in support of and under the supervision of a registered midwife.

Experience

Essential criteria
- Previous experience in health or care setting

Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in working in maternity services
- Previous experience in an outpatient setting

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
- NVQ 2/3 or equivalent in health and social care
- GCSE Maths and English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, functional skills level 2 or equivalent
- Computer literacy, confident with ICT

Desirable criteria
- Completion of the Care Certificate

Communication & Relationship

Essential criteria
- Approachable manner with good interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- IT / computer skills
- Knowledge and understanding of data protection and confidentiality
