The Company:
Northern Powergrid owns and operates the network that distributes electricity to homes and businesses across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire. Employing over 2,500 people, the business has 8 million customers and supplies 3.9 million properties via 60,000 miles of overhead powerlines and underground cables.

The business are looking to make a pivotal Graphic Design hire as they bring the creative ownership of their brand inhouse. This is an exciting opportunity with the chance to work autonomously, with creative freedom and with a targeted approach to drive the brand forward.

The Role:
A key focus of the role will be the alignment of all branding. This hire will become the custodian of the Northern Powergrid brand, ensuring internal and external branding is consistent and aligned.

Responsible for a defining requirement, iterate on design solutions, and contribute expertise for various digital products for a wide range of platforms, including websites and apps, social media, and display advertising.

This role could be based in the Newcastle or Leeds Castleford office

**Responsibilities**:

- To develop, create and deliver compelling design concepts and artwork to establish the brand and support Northern Powergrid’s PR campaigns and sponsorship plan, the wider business plan and customer strategies.
- Create on-brand, creative visual designs and illustrations in both print and digital format that are captivating and engaging for both internal and external campaigns.
- Work alongside the in-house PR & Campaigns team and Internal Communications team to support in creating and editing impactful video and design content for a variety of audiences across the digital and social media channels and corporate website.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all graphics, logos and artwork adhere to the appropriate brand guidelines to ensure consistency of voice and brand recognition across all channels.
- Clearly articulate design rationale and confidently present visual design work to all levels of the business.
- Prioritise different streams of work to meet a range of different deadlines, managing your own workload with the support of the Head of Communications, communicating effectively on the progress with all the relevant project teams.

About you
- Minimum of four years Digital and Graphic design experience in a professional digital design role.
- A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity.
- Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated, proactive and flexible working style, being an adaptable team player with excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign packages, such as Premier Pro and After Effects
