**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with the Head of Infrastructure to help implement and maintain the group’s infrastructure across the group.
- Act as a technical escalation point for the technologies to resolve issues swiftly, and find root cause to better improve the service(s) offered by the department.
- Have a proven track record in supporting large production environments spanning geographic locations across a number of systems and internet connections.
- Understand and work towards a strategy set out by senior management ensuring we adhere to direction and execute tasks based on priority to meet strategy deadlines.
- Be an escalation point for production threatening incidents, priority one or major issues and must have a proven track record in dealing with 3rd line support along with working closely or dealing with partners and 3rd party vendors.
- Be flexible when it comes to out of hours support during evenings and weekends which would require expertise beyond the duty service team where necessary.
- Have a good understanding of the need to be proactive by way of performance monitoring, tuning and pre-empting service improvements before they become an Issue.
- To undertake other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Line Manager.
- Providing the IT Helpdesk with information about incidents and problems to assist with the identification and tracking of common and recurring issues.
- Ensure adherence to all IT policies, architectural standards and guidelines, operational processes and procedures including relevant build and security Standards.

**Skills, Qualifications and competencies required**:
**Experience**
- Good understanding of VMware.
- Working knowledge of CITRIX, VMWare, Microsoft, and Linux stacks.
- Working knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN), Cisco-based network technology, high availability and disaster recovery environments, voice and video communication and related technologies.
- IP addressing, subnet and DNS and their use in large complex environments.
- Create and Maintain Standards and Best Practices for Infrastructure Equipment
- Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption.

- Virtualisation concepts using Citrix and VMware inc. ESXi 6+ XenApp/Desktop 7.5+
- General knowledge of networking (Switches, Routing, VLANs, WLAN, Wireless, Proxies)
- Experience with running and maintaining scripting using PowerShell, Puppet, Chef, etc.
- Understanding of Google Apps for Work and Google Hosted Services
- Willingness to travel when needed to provide support to remote or overseas offices.
