Senior Enablement Worker covering South Derbyshire and Erewash areas.

**This position will be fixed term until 31.08.2023 and will become a permanent position from 01.09.2023**

The post is based at Mercian Close, Ilkeston but has managerial responsibility for a team of Enablement Workers who cover both Erewash and Swadlincote. You will therefore be expected to travel throughout the area and on occasion to other locations within Derbyshire to fulfill your role.

The team of Enablement workers also provides a small number of long term packages of support.

The service provides time limited support, highly focused on maximizing independence to reduce ongoing care and support needs. We aim to support clients to become more resilient in managing their mental health issues, by enabling them to regain skills, and build confidence in a way that empowers them to exercise maximum choice and control.

Inspiring confidence and motivation is a key factor, alongside regular goal setting to achieve daily living tasks such as self-care, money management, accessing public transport, referring to outreach services e.g. welfare rights, adult learning, housing and assisting people to build social networks to promote a sense of well-being and belonging.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Supervision of Enablement workers. Implementing policies and procedures, recruitment and selection, induction, organisation of work schedules, leading team meetings, conducting regular supervision with individual staff, identifying training needs and ongoing team development.
- Processing referrals from Adult Care professionals, attending initial visits, reviews and overseeing the transfer and closure of cases.
- Creating quality Personal Service Plans, and allocation and monitoring of referrals to the team.
- Monitoring risk and the health and safety of staff, and completing risk assessments.
- Assisting in the monitoring of expenditure and budget allocations.
- Recording all work undertaken and prepare data and reports in line with the requirement of the DCC monitoring and evaluation process.
- Assisting with the initiation and development of new aspects of service provision.
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with Adult Care Social Work Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, the Recovery and Peer Support Service and other agencies as appropriate.
