The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to appoint a full time, open-ended lecturer in Theoretical Syntax.

**The Opportunity**:
The University seeks to appoint an open-ended, full time Lecturer in Theoretical Syntax, within the department of Linguistics and English Language in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Extensive experience of original research in theoretical syntax, supported by a relevant qualification (normally a PhD or equivalent; pending assumed complete may be considered).
- A strong record of publication in high quality venues, as appropriate to career stage.
- Evidence of experience in teaching, as appropriate to career stage, indicative of commitment to and potential for excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Evidence of recent, sustained and developing research and publication activities, appropriate to career stage, meeting standards of international excellence.
- The ability to communicate highly theoretical material to a diverse audience. A deep commitment to delivering engaging and effective teaching and supervision to students at all levels and from diverse backgrounds, using appropriate teaching methods.
- The ability to engage effectively with the wider academic and professional community.
- The ability to work in a team to deliver teaching and learning objectives.
- The ability to lead, motivate, and support students at all levels from undergraduate to PhD.
