**The Role & Key Responsibilities**:
**Job title**:Monogastric Nutritionist
** Location**:Peterborough, UK (Hybrid)

**Role**: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

**Shift **- Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 - (2 days per week based in the Peterborough Offices)

The monogastric nutritionist has an important part in implementing excellence in nutrition for ABN customers, collaborating with the ABN technical team. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-performance feed, fostering customer confidence and satisfaction.

The primary focus of the role is to enhance the ABN offering through contribution to product specifications, innovation, research and development, public relations, marketing, and training initiatives. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring feed safety and legality, including ingredient introduction, labelling, and response to quality control results.

**Role Objectives**:

- Interpret performance data and understand customer requirements to deliver the customer proposition in alignment with the Commercial team.
- Ensure pig and poultry product specifications are safe, legal, and meet business objectives.
- Collaborate with the nutrition team to ensure the production of safe and legally compliant feed, including new ingredient introduction and label requirements.
- Demonstrate competency in feed safety related tasks as identified in the Feed Safety RACI
- Contribute to R&D by establishing priorities, preparing trial protocols, monitoring progress, and presenting outcomes.
- Assist in the preparation of product literature, marketing materials, and PR activities.
- Participate in the investigation of nutrition-related complaints and variations in product tolerances.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of nutritional training to the business.
- Effective communication and influencing skills including with customers, third party nutritionists, feed ingredient suppliers, and veterinary professionals.

**About you**:

- Degree level in biological science, PhD preferable
- Knowledge of nutrition, production, and performance data interpretation
- Ability to develop R&D plans and interpret results.
- Excellent presentation & communication skills
- Understanding of pig and poultry supply chains and feed legislation
- Analytical capability for result interpretation (Desirable)
- Appreciation of feed legislation and assurance schemes (Desirable)

**Other Factors**:

- Hybrid role with an expectation of spending time at the AB Agri Head Office in Peterborough
- Travel required to ABN mills and customer facilities in the UK, with some overnight stays.
- Full UK Driving License required.
