**Job Description**:
**Call Handler - Scottish Ambulance Service, South Queensferry**

Pertemps are delighted to bring various Call Handler posts to the market, based in South Queensferry. We are looking for professional individuals who have previous customer service experience, work effectively with a team and are excited for an opportunity to work with Scottish Ambulance Service.

- Starting 17th July - must be available to start on this date
- Temporary ongoing contract (min of 4 months) with potential extension
- £13.02ph - £22.65ph dependant on shifts worked
- This is a fast-paced environment with calls being received 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Successful applicants will be expected to work 37.5hrs weekly, 4 days out of 7 on various shifts including dayshift, backshift, nightshift and weekends.
- Location - Scottish Ambulance Station, South Queensferry
- Full training provided for 2 weeks - all successful applicants must be available to attend training Monday-Friday 09:30-17:30, moving on to their required shift pattern thereafter
- The Role:_
- You'll electronically record the details of the call, including exact locations and what happened. The call is then automatically transferred to dispatch who will make sure the right assistance gets to the patient.
- You will take a variety of calls assisting Police, Fire, Coastguard services and GP surgeries, OOH & NHS24. You may be required to provide reassurance that help has been arranged

**Key Responsibilities**
- Answering a high volume of calls from Police, Fire, Coastguard, GP surgeries, OOH & NHS24
- Keeping the caller calm to get valuable information
- Finding out accurate details to determine the nature of the call and location
- Providing reassurance and support to callers whilst emergency services are dispatched
- Logging all information from the call on to the system accurately

Due to the nature of work, you must also be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland check.
