**Job Overview**
CAPA is seeking an Academic Coordinator to join our high performing London study center. The Academic Coordinator is an essential role within the Academic Team. Working closely with the Director of Academic Affairs, the Academic Coordinator supports the Academic Team and its operations. The role requires liaising closely with faculty, the Program and Student Services team, the Global Internship team and American college and university students studying in London.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Director of Academic Affairs in efficiently scheduling and streamlining multiple courses and programs, including associated field trips and events during the academic cycle.
- Prepare CAPA’s learning management system, CANVAS, for each term and provide support to students and faculty requiring assistance with CANVAS and other learning tools
- Maintain an updated database of faculty, with areas of expertise, tenure with CAPA, and contract details, including CVs, credentials, and proof of right to work in the UK
- Assist Director of Academic Affairs with operational communication with faculty
- Review and archive syllabi taught each term. Track term-by-term changes and report significant changes to syllabi to the Director of Academic Affairs for review
- Regularly review syllabi and CANVAS pages to ensure CAPA is not in breach of copyright laws and prepare annual report for the Copyright Licensing Agency
- Assist with new faculty member induction and provide faculty support for classroom technology and the CANVAS online learning environment, including new faculty orientation and training
- Provide high-quality academic advising to all students, especially those requiring additional support or special learning accommodations
- Serve as primary administrator of local registrar functions, including course registration, add/drop advising, and associated reporting
- Maintain class attendance records and liaise with Student Services Advisor regarding student absences
- Facilitate student focus groups and other feedback forums, promote and administer student awards
- Support the Director of Academic Affairs in staff and departmental meetings, including writing and archiving clear and effective minutes
- Contribute to preparations for, and participate in, CAPA faculty meetings and roundtables
- Organise hospitality for academic site visits, including visits with CAPA’s Academic Advisory Board, and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education
- Undertake other tasks to support the AMT as required
- Serve on rotation as part of an out-of-hours emergency response team
**Qualifications**
- Documented legal authorization to work in the UK
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, whilst simultaneously working as a part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure
- A high level of proficiency in computer software particularly Microsoft Office, as well as Salesforce and CANVAS
- Solid working knowledge of educational technology is helpful
- A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
**Hours of Work**
Full time. Due to the nature of the study abroad field, additional time beyond regular office hours is to be expected in this role.
