To provide a decontamination and laundry service for dynamic mattresses and other medical equipment. To carry out equipment repairs and provide users with advice on equipment operation.

This is an opportunity to work with a friendly and enthusiastic small team.

To deliver, collect and reprocess dynamic mattresses.

To carry out routine testing and first line repairs on dynamic mattresses that will require the interpretation of manufacturer’s manuals and parts lists.

To undertake manufacturers equipment maintenance training and to cascade this training to others.

To carry out routine maintenance of the specified electro-medical equipment ensuring adherence to the correct servicing procedures in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance

Ordering parts & cross charging wards/depts accordingly. Managing spare parts stock levels

Work in wards and other patient areas which will involve exposure to the clinical environment.

Be aware of Infection Control issues as a result of working on equipment that has been exposed to body fluid and exposure to sharps

Observe and comply with statutory and other relevant requirements, in particular those relating to Health and Safety.

Undertake equipment commissioning and routine working with a degree of autonomy and responsibility.

Undertake other related duties, in the Equipment Library, as directed by the Equipment Library Manager. Including ward moves, auditing, product evaluation and one off projects.

Deliver and collect medical equipment across the Trust, involving the handling of heavy and awkward weights frequently

Carry out all duties in accordance with the departments ISO9001 Quality Management System.

Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all wards and department including the Trusts Biomed department and other members of the Equipment Group.

Maintain accurate record keeping of all maintenance and decontamination work on an electronic asset management database.

Collect and present data to Equipment Library Manager on a monthly basis on section activity.

Complete ward rounds collecting Dynamic equipment that requires decontamination. This will involve liaising with clinical staff in each area. This will also include frequent handling of heavy and awkward items.

Complete ward rounds collecting specialist equipment for laundering. This will involve accurate record keeping and stock control ensuring decontaminated items are returned to the correct areas.

LOLER testing of patient slings in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and MHRA requirements

Facilitate the maintenance programme for laundry equipment, cleaning products/chemicals and consumable stock levels.
