A great new opportunity has arisen to join our Risk & Compliance Team. In this position, you will report directly into the group's General Counsel & Company Secretary, who is our Chief Risk Officer and you will support the ongoing development of the complianceculture within the Society.

**The Risk and Compliance Manager Key Tasks**:
The Risk and Compliance Manager will be mainly responsible for ensuring all policies, processes, procedures and training meet with UK and Irish financial regulation and legislation.

You will hold "Pre-Approved Controlled Function" (PCF) positions within the Central Bank of Ireland's regulatory regime (PCF 12 Head of Compliance and PCF 14 Chief Risk Officer).

The role holder may also be required to act as the Society's "SMF17" Money Laundering Reporting Officer, which is an "Approved Person" position under the SM&CR regime in the UK.

**Compliance**
- Support the development of the compliance culture within the Society, ensuring all policies, processes, procedures and training meet with UK and Irish financial regulation and legislation
- Provide guidance to the Society on actions required to achieve compliance with prevailing regulatory requirements and Codes of Practice as part of recommendations supporting the delivery of the Society's strategy
- Ensure that the Society's statutory regulatory returns for the UK and Ireland are collated and submitted on time
- Provide reports to Executive, the Risk and Compliance Committee and the Board on regulatory and risk matters and attend such Committee meetings as required
- Identify best practice standards for compliance with regulatory requirements and take appropriate steps to implement these into the 1st line
- Attend all Risk & Compliance team meetings and report regularly to the General Counsel and Company Secretary on FCA / PRA / CBI developments and provide updates as appropriate

**Risk**
- Maintain the Society's Risk Management Framework to ensure that an appropriate and proportionate risk governance regime is implemented across the Society
- Maintain and manage the Society's Risk Dashboard, Risk Register and risk reporting tools to ensure risks are identified, reported and controlled appropriately
- Provide constructive challenge to the 1st line Risk Owners to ensure risks are adequately assessed and that evidence is available to demonstrate that stated controls are effective
- Maintain the Society's Risk Management policies, processes, systems and controls to demonstrate ongoing oversight of risk activity across the business and ensuring an appropriate risk culture is embedded

**Who are we looking for?**

**Technical**
- An experienced Compliance manager from the Financial Services sector with up-to-date knowledge and experience of working to relevant PRA and FCA guidelines and regulation within the Central Bank of Ireland
- Minimum three years compliance or risk management expertise in at least two areas of FCA Conduct of Business requirements, including Anti Money laundering and Financial Crime regulations
- A working knowledge or experience of the Solvency II Directive
- Experience in monitoring and oversight of regulated firms and provision of advice and guidance
- Experience in risk management within an FCA regulated firm
