**Job Details**

To assess the financial contribution payable towards care costs by clients in long term care. This post is based in the Long Term Care Financial Assessment Team.

Key tasks include:

- Carrying out financial assessments in accordance with regulations and statutory guidelines
- Managing your own caseload
- Taking responsibility for the accuracy of your own workload ensuring it is processed within set timescales and the correct decisions are applied in accordance with any relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
- Liaising and communicating with other Council services, customers and external partners
- Financial reconciliations of payments, investigating queries within set timescales
- Participate and assist with the delivery of projects related to service improvements

**The Person**
- Take a proactive approach to managing your own workload and comply with legislative requirements whilst carrying out assessments.
- Have experience in a financial/customer service background dealing with customers by phone and written correspondence.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer care and communication skills with the ability to respond sensitively to people with a variety of needs.
- Be able to manage multiple demands and be responsible for the accuracy of your own workload.
- Display a flexible attitude to work and change with a positive, pro-active approach.
- Have the ability to use multiple IT systems and have excellent administrative skills.

Educated to SCQF level 5 which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent in a business /customer service background.

**Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.**
