**Purpose of Role**

To learn from the existing estimating team, to eventually becoming a key part of a successful estimating department. The role will involve working on new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding and project award. Generate and manage estimates required for sales and bidding efforts. Learning how to read through tender packages and client requirements whilst ensuring Teckentrup product offering meets this and maintains compliance to regulations and testing.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Learning how to generate quotes for all predicted requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers. Using various software and pricing tools
- Clarifying the client's needs and expectations, speaking to clients for clarifications and to liaise with key points of contact.
- Learning to estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information via our costing documents and quotation templates.
- Creating reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends for the sales manager.
- Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors where applicable.
- Learn how to identify opportunity and risks during tender process.
- Work closely with key members of the estimating team to learn how and why we offer different quoting methods.

**Dimensions of Role**
- Learning the process of preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Learning how to use our CRM software Procore for storing all sales data.
- Learning how to identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents. Analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs.
- This role will lead to collaborating with project teams to develop and maintain pre and post contract estimates.
- Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Visiting sister company in Irlam to learn how the two businesses work together in all aspects of the door industry.
- You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.

**Desirable Qualifications & skills**
- Full Driver’s Licence
- Education demonstrating a good level of numeracy, literacy and technical aptitude, e.g. A ‘levels, HNC or degree or equivalent relevant construction qualification.
- High level of computer literacy and strong aptitude to learn new software

**Beneficial Experience**

General understanding of steel doors including fire and security would be advantageous but not essential as this is a trainee role.
