**OVERALL PURPOSE**

A Projects Estimator is required to assess technical documents, including site reports, drawings, and specifications to help recommend the correct components, products, and services to fulfil the requirements of a quote request raised by the sales teams around the business.

This is a process requiring partnership with other departments within the business such as Design, Project Management, and Sales, as well as a variety of suppliers. At the end of this a submission is produced, appropriate to the scale of the job, providing technical and commercial information.

The Project Estimator will support the existing team throughout this process and grow their expertise to enable them to manage their own pipeline of quotations for curtains, tracks, and other stage machinery - installed on site.

This is an exciting opportunity to be exposed to commercial and technical knowledge and training, under the tutelage of experienced mentors. Ultimately helping to produce proposals for a wide variety of interesting performance spaces in the UK and all over the world.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Respond to requests raised by colleagues via an internal software system.
- Understanding and analysing site reports, technical specification, and drawings.
- Contacting suppliers for technical information and pricing.
- Draft basic sketches/drawings as part of discussions with clients and for tender proposals.
- Meeting with design team and project managers to assess proposed technical solutions and install methodology.
- Meeting with sales team to assess proposed commercial offers.
- Complete costing documents to calculate the value of the estimate.
- Compile detailed proposal documents combining technical and commercial information.
- Inputting submitted quotes into company ERP system.
- Facilitating the handover of a successful quotation to the project management department (discussing supplier choices, design proposals and project parameters).
- Keep up to date with relevant industry safety and professional standards.
- Learn the technical attributes of our key products and the partner suppliers we work with.

**SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES**

We are seeking a driven individual, who is keen to learn and develop into a key role within the business.

Ideally, we are looking at a recent graduate with a technical degree, or someone with 2-3 years’ experience in a role providing relevant experience.
- Attention to detail - to read and understand a range of technical documents.
- Organised approach to workload - able to utilise library of technical and commercial estimating tools to work on multiple job estimates at any time in order to hit submittal deadlines
- Must be a competent user of Excel, and Acrobat.Experience of technical design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. would be beneficial.
- A knowledge or interest in theatre, shows, or engineering is beneficial
