**How will you make an impact?**

The primary responsibility of the Buyer II is managing the day-to-day materials planning and placement of purchase orders for the assigned commodities. The person will manage supplier relationships, maintain inventory levels, support cost reduction strategies, participate in supplier negotiations, purchase agreements, and work with other departments to control costs, solve problems, and ensure the timely supply of products to customers.

**What will you do?**
- Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to plan and execute purchase orders.
- Manage supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance, and communicate with suppliers periodically.
- Manage materials supply and inventory levels for product line(s), planning and purchasing for material requirements.
- Work with key stakeholders to help manage inventory levels.
- Maintain Procurement Master Data in respective ERP system.
- Resolve AP issues.
- Collaborate with key suppliers to discuss metrics and forecast.
- Negotiate with suppliers to implement improved pricing, strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate supplier performance and communicate with suppliers periodically.
- Report metrics (purchase price variance, on-time delivery, backorder, supplier scorecards, etc.) to track overall success and effectiveness of procurement performance.
- Participate in cross functional team meetings, execute and/or share all actions with team as required.
- Participate on process improvement and lean initiative project teams.
- Participate in cost savings and quality improvement projects.
- Supports the development and implementation of processes and efficiencies through lean initiatives (Practical Process Improvement).
- Ensures supplier contract compliance where applicable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**How will you get here?**
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, manufacturing operations, operations management, supply chain management or technical field required.
- 2+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a fast-paced working environment.
- APICS, CSPM or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle preferred) and MS office i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Experience in a scientific environment or medical device field preferred.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:

- Proven understanding of specified functional area.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and understanding of contracts, supply agreements.
- Strong communication skills including listening, verbal and written.
- Proven ability to establish and maintaining favorable relationships with peers, subordinates, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently towards defined goals with strong attention to details a must.
- Ability to make decisions and solve practical problems with a variety of variables in situations where standardization may be limited.
- Ability to interpret technical data and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and motivated to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Proven customer service orientation.
