Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is looking for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager based at our Service Headquarters in Birstall, Leicestershire. This brings with it a fantastic opportunity to be innovative, drive improvement and increaseawareness across the organisation and within our communities.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the Service is an inclusive employer and delivers services tailored to the needs of the diverse communities it serves. You will work in partnership with teams across the Service and with external partners to effectivelyremove barriers for those from under-represented groups either to joining the workforce or accessing services.

You will promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging, raising awareness of the benefits of equality, diversity, and inclusion both in the workplace and in service delivery.

You will advise and support members of the Fire Authority and all managers and key stakeholders, including network groups, both internally and externally, on relevant legislation and best practice on improving equality diversity and inclusion.

You will also ensure the Service meets its legislative duties and the expectations outlined within the Fire Service National Framework and Public Sector Equality Duty.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager will report into the Strategic Management Team through the Manager of the People and Organisational Development Department. You will promote and raise awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion both in theworkplace and in service delivery through research, development and the production of relevant policies and procedures.

You will have experience of leading, managing and motivating diverse multi-skilled teams, delivering effective and accurate materials across a range of communication channels.

To be successful, you will be highly organised with the ability to effectively manage competing and changing demands and proven experience of working within a fast-paced, results-orientated organisation, as well as a strong focus on outputs to a high standardto tight timescales without compromising accuracy.

You will need to have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build healthy relationships with people and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, as well as being flexible and adaptable. Owning the action plans, you will ensure that we are deliveringagainst our commitments.

The role will require the successful applicant to work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You will also be required on occasions to work outside of the usual working hours and have the ability to travel to venues within the service area or across the UnitedKingdom to facilitate the role. This will include evenings and weekends. Hybrid working may be considered for this role.

You will automatically be enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS); this is a tax-approved, defined benefit occupational pension scheme. Your contributions are based on your earnings, and you can choose from different income options whenyou retire.
