We’re recruiting for a Principal Hydrometry & Telemetry Consultant to join the team on a permanent basis.

**About FiveRivers**:
FiveRivers are a widely recognised industry specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the consultation, design and implementation of ecological and environmental solutions. Our specialism is delivering projects in the water environment, for example our design and build projects include wetlands creation for nutrient mitigation, natural flood management, river restoration and habitat enhancement, fish passage and easements.

**The Team**:
Our Monitoring team at FiveRivers deliver hydrometry and telemetry projects of any scale, from long-term monitoring for large infrastructure schemes to standalone measurements to supplement ecological assessments. We offer a multi-disciplinary service and are able to deploy aquatic ecologists, hydrogeomorphologists and designers.

**Your Role**:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive technical H&T knowledge to step into a Principal role and build your H&T team beneath you. You’ll be part of the bids process as well as leading the team on technical activities through to delivery and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead technical reporting and consultations for a wide range of projects, and manage inputs from colleagues
- Lead quality control of data collection, data outputs and technical reports
- Project planning to ensure efficient programming of resources and staff
- Manage HSQE controls of medium to large complex contracts, to ensure projects are delivered safely, are high quality and environmental risk controlled
- Lead technical training and mentoring of staff on health and safety, survey methodology, species identification, professional conduct, environmental mitigation and time management.

**About You**:
We’re looking for someone who:

- Has extensive experience in Hydrometry & Telemetry, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Has managed single or multiple schemes
- Has strong environmental industry knowledge and an understanding of UK & EU water quality legislation
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills

**Please note: this will be a hybrid working role with some time spent in the office (Codford, Warminster) working from home, and on-site where required.
