Lineman 3

**The Role**:
An opportunity has arisen for Lineman (OLEC 1, 2 and 3) to join VolkerRail Major Projects working within the Rail Electrification Alliance (REAL).

The REAL Alliance is responsible for the delivery of Network Rail’s East Coast Main Line Power Supply Upgrade Project. The alliance comprises of Network Rail, Siemens, J Murphy and Sons, Jacobs, TSP and VolkerRail.

We are looking to attract, train and develop new people with a genuine interest in building a career in our industry.

Your work will be rostered on a weekly basis will require you to work evenings and weekends as well as be able to travel to different work locations which will include overnight stays.

**Key Accountabilities**:
You will:

- Operate the Electrification plant and equipment so as to achieve delivery of the contracted works on the High Output Electrification system.
- Ensure that safety is at the forefront of construction of the planned works and is delivered safely and on time.

- Deliver the allocated Electrification and associated works in order to ensure all works are delivered to contract specification within set budgetary targets and quality standards.
- Liaise with Electrification members as necessary to ensure the efficient running of the project.
- Endeavour to achieve high levels of safety, performance, attendance and behavioural standards.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Previous experience of working in the Railway industry.
- Use of small tools and equipment
- Working to tight deadlines in a time critical environment
- Working within a team and following detailed instructions
- Working at height
- Working with construction plant
