The post holder will provide an efficient, effective and comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Endoscopy Department in accordance with the standard operating procedures and trust policies and procedures, to ensure patients requiring procedures within the department have their pathway managed efficiently and effectively

Are you a pro-active, motivated individual who would enjoy working in a challenging and busy Endoscopy unit ?

We are looking to appoint an Endoscopy Unit clerk to support the day to day running of the Endoscopy unit.

You should have proven patient care skills or worked in a patient/customer care focused environment. You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions, and you must possess effective communication skills able to work well under pressure and be a key team player.

RESPECT - COMPASSION - TEAMWORKPROFESSIONALISM
- 1. To co-ordinate the day to day management and maintenance of the

inpatient/day case waiting lists in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and
Endoscopy Booking Policy.
2. To book day cases and procedures undertaken in endoscopy, within given
guidelines ensuring the national and local targets are met.
3. To replace cancellations, as and when necessary, with like for like cases or within
guidelines provided, whilst taking into account the national targets for waiting
times.
4. To instruct patients with regard to the stopping of specific medication and inform
patients of starving requirements depending on scheduling of procedure.
5. Dealing with all patients enquires regarding cancellations, rescheduling and
holiday bookings.
6. To contact the patients and agree a convenient date for their admission, in line
with booked admissions
