Summary of the Post

We are looking for a responsible Apprentice for the role of Business Administrator at Scarborough Construction Skills Village. The purpose of the role is to support the Administrators and Trainers and perform a variety of administrative/clerical tasks.

Duties of the Apprentice include providing support to our Administrator and wider Scarborough Construction Skills Village team, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.

Main Duties
- Type and word process various documents and electronic information.
- Arrange and where necessary attend meetings, conferences and site-specific team meetings as required.
- General office duties, e.g. filing, printing, photocopying, providing refreshments to the office.
- Receiving and collating information generated through the Administrator.
- Liaise with apprentices and or/ businesses in relation to the programmes as required.
- Reception and telephone responsibilities
- Assist with the filing of registers and contacting individuals where necessary.
- Photocopy all relevant information and distribute as appropriate to the Scarborough Construction Skills Village team.
- Assist in paperwork audits.
- Keep an up to date filing system.
- Complete mail merges and prepare information ready to distribute to appropriate partners as required.
- Scan training documentation and file as appropriate.
- Any other reasonable management request.

You will be given full training in all areas and the relevant IT systems. Proficient IT skills are necessary along with a good standard or English and Maths.

The Training you will be receiving
- Level 3 Business Administrator Standard
- This is an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration and will include a combination of on and off the job training in the workplace. You will have a monthly teaching and guidance session at work from an Activfirst Tutor Assessor, using a blended delivery approach.
- After approximately 15 months you will be entered to undertake an End Point Assessment, to complete your apprenticeship.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- On completion of the programme, the apprentice will have the opportunity to obtain permanent employment and further training to enhance their skills and increase their responsibilities.

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade A* - C (9-4)) Essential
