We are seeking a motivated and dedicated person to support the technical and practical aspects of delivering these highly complex treatments. The post holder will work as part of a wider team of scientists, technologists and dosimetrists to support the Quality assurance of the treatment and imaging units, support for the treatment planning activities, maintenance of scientific equipment, manage practical radiation protection measures, and ensure patient pathways are maintained efficiently.

The role is to provide a scientific and technical support to a busy Proton Therapy department. There is also a requirement to undertake all Quality Assuarnce (QA) checks on proton treatment units and measurements to confirm patient plans prior to treatment. The successful applicant will work closely with members of the physics team to perform Quality Assurance checks of the proton gantries. Another significant aspect of the role is to undertake research and development projects.

Applicants should be multi-skilled. The applicant should demonstrate an inquisitive mind with a keenness to problem-solve.

Good communication skills are essential with the ability to communicate to a variety of people with differing backgrounds.

The job requires a high degree of manual dexterity as well as the ability to use fine tools and measuring equipment.
