To lead and assist in the systems administration, maintenance of the neonatal transport and paediatric transport data base and development of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) database for the Neonatal and Paediatric Transport Services and to work collaboratively with other system administrators within the Clinical Management Group (CMG) in the future as required.

To extract data from the Neonatal transport and Paediatric transport database and provide summary information and graphs to illustrate clinical activity and performance. Requests for information may come from a variety of sources and may involve extracting data from more than one database.

To act as an initial point of contact for general IT support for administrative and clinical staff within the neonatal and paediatric transport service and assist in providing training for all users of the systems.

To participate in the quality assurance and checking of accuracy of data across both services, including excel data bases, KINSEED and PICANET data bases

To lead and assist with the collation and inputting of service specific data into databases as required within the service.

Participation in the identification and implementation of service improvements

Service Delivery & Development
- undertake full system administration and maintenance of the databases used by the transport teams
- Maintaining the system Masterfile’s, ensuring completeness and accuracy at all the times.
- Training new users on KINSEED, PICANET and Excel databases, ensuring a good understanding of data accuracy, data protection legislation and security (Information Governance). Setting up and issuing new user logins andaccess rights, ensuring strict security controls according to levels of training.
- Building and checking of new templates for transport and ad-hoc reports. Training of all transport staff
- Running systematic audits of data, held on data bases to ensure data quality and accuracy, including checking for duplicate patients and merging these records where appropriate..
- Assisting in the testing, installation, and implementation of new electronic patient records, providing advice and training to the users to ensure the correct use of the upgraded software.
- Acting as a ‘Helpdesk’

Reports
- Running reports to access and extract information primarily for clinical staff and service leads for clinical audits etc. Act as an initial point of contact for staff requesting new reports

To assist in the database administration and maintenance of the Badger Neonatal Transport database system within UHL.
- To train new users of the KINSEED, PICANET and Neonatal Excel systems.
- To have an indepth working knowledge of the database and related clinical processes. Use this knowledge to assess users’ information needs and extract the appropriate information from databases.
- To lead and assist in the rollout of IT related projects to the Transport service and possibly other services within the Women’s & Children’s CMG in the future.
- To develop and maintain neonatal and paediatric service databases
- To explore and help develop an electronic patient record for both transport teams
