Division : Weir Minerals

Location: Todmorden, Onsite

Purpose of Role: We are hiring for a Category buyer to join our Procurement team, responsible for procurement of direct materials for WME across our global network. This is challenging opportunity in a fast paced environment for a professional to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement appropriate procurement strategies for direct spend.
- Managing the commercial aspects of sourcing, including market analysis, spend analysis, tendering, negotiation, contract negotiation and management.
- Ensure supplier contracts are periodically renewed (every 2 years).
- Source and evaluate new products and suppliers to promote supply chain improvements.
- Undertake supplier performance reviews, supplier scorecards and develop and implement performance improvement plans to improve Cost, Quality, Delivery and Continuous improvement.
- Complete supplier audits at their facility.
- Drive cost reduction through negotiation, benchmarking and VAVE activity against agreed targets.
- Support and engage with cross functional supply chain projects.
- Develop stocking and sourcing strategies with suppliers to reduce working capital.
- Take responsibility of supplier quality, seeking to improve and maintain high standards. Facilitate the NCR process and report KPI’s.
- Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and seek to minimise their occurrence

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

- Demonstrable track record in procurement.
- Knowledge of relevant global supply markets.
- Familiar with manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
- CIPS Preferred, completed, or working towards
- Excellent analytical skill.
- SAP (or similar MRP system) skill is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional teams

Compensation:

- Competitive Salary
- 37 hour work week
