Fixed term until 30 September 2024

There is an expectation that work will be undertaken in the UK.

**The Post**
Do you have expertise in intervention design and using different psychological triggers (e.g. norms) to change the way people think? Do you want to help us create positive impact in the urban development industry through influencing senior decisions makers to take health considerations and inequalities more seriously? **If so, we have an exciting, 13 month (with likely 6 month extension) post-doc available for someone in the field of psychology or management, who has just finished their PhD, and would like to focus on research.**

TRUUD (‘Tackling the Root causes Upstream of Unhealthy Urban Development’) is an ambitious, and ground-breaking, 5-year £10 million transdisciplinary project focused on working with senior decision makers and communities to prioritise health in urban decision-making processes. In particular, we investigate how non-communicable diseases (NCDs) can be prevented by changing the way that urban development decisions are made. Funded by the UK Prevention Research Partnership, our work has a number of facets that are all targeted at enabling system actors to further prioritise health and health inequalities in urban development decisions. The long-term impact of this work is to improve NCDs in urban areas. More details about the project and its partners can be found here.

**Description of Duties**
- Conduct and disseminate original research aligned with the project and in collaboration with the team. Disseminated research will include regular publication in high impact journals, books and conference proceedings, as well as ‘impact’ pieces in different forms of media (e.g. blogs)
- Work closely with senior decision makers in the urban development industry to enable a programme of work and the measurement of this
- Work as part of the broader TRUUD team to help organize events and/ or support the work of the team as needed
- Contribute to outreach and impact engagement activities of the project
- Identify appropriate sources of funding and help prepare research proposals for funding bodies
- Demonstrate initiative in making routine decisions in order to manage and achieve project deliverables and deadlines
- Participate in, and develop, networks and collaborations both internally and externally to the Division/Faculty/University
- Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post
