Head of Finance

**We are recruiting a Management Accountant to be based in the office 3 days per week in Hertford HQ. Reporting to SOFA CLUB’s founder, you’ll manage the company’s finances day to day ensuring scalable bullet proof controls and processes exist. Youwill add strategic value ensuring the business is well capitalised at all times to achieve its growth potential.

**About the role** You’ll business partner with the senior leadership team to ensure budgets are well controlled and trading performance is in line with plan. You will challenge and add insight from a financial perspective during the decision-making process.

This role is based in the SOFA CLUB head office in Hertford and offers the flexibility of working from one once a week.

**_Main Accountabilities include:_**
- Build a best-in-class finance function that enables the business to deliver it’s short and long term objectives
- Build bulletproof, scalable controls and processes across all business functions that ensure no value is leaked, automating where possible
- Take ownership of a fully integrated financial model that supports the growth ambition of the business for the next 5 years
- Ensure the business is fully funded at all times, supporting the MD on all future fund-raising projects
- Know your numbers - ensure that any challenge is defended and articulated clearly giving stakeholders trust and confidence
- Best in class cash flow management, continuously seeking efficiencies to enhance the working capital cycle
- Timely, accurate and meaningful MI pack delivery to support decision making
- Full ownership of the month end close
- Deliver final management accounts within 5 working days, consistently
- Take the lead on all investment / capex sign off projects
- Ad hoc financial modelling / analysis to support decision making at pace. I.e., What do the numbers say?
- Oversight of marketing spend deployment, ensuring ROAS/CAC/MER targets are being met
- Positively impact and influence internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with Product, Brand, Marketing, Trading, Operations, and Tech teams
- Manage the businesses cash as if it was your own

- Have a minimum of 5 year’s experience in Finance
- Can think and act at both a strategic and tactical level
- Previously scaled a Finance function in a fast-growing consumer-facing business
- Results driven with an entrepreneurial spirit. Comfortable solving difficult financial problems and building processes from scratch
- Comfortable owning the numbers with the ability to quickly see the impact decisions made have on financial performance
- Commercially savvy and data driven, but also able to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front
- Comfortable working in a tech-enabled business, and able to learn and understand new systems rapidly. You see tech as an important and exciting part of your role.
