**Duration**: Maternity cover from Easter (possibly going into the new academic year)

Recruit Mint Education is looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Year 3 Teacher to assist with maternity cover from Easter until the end of year (with high possibility to go into the new term).

**Job Responsabilities:**
- to report to the Headteacher for his/her duties, responsabilities and teaching tasks
- to undertake the teaching of the pupils in his/her class and any associated pastoral and administrative duties in respect of those pupils
- to build and maintain good working relationships which will promote the development and effective delivery of the school curriculum and maximise children's achievement
- to be responsible for the supervision of the work of support staff
- to ensure children's safety, wellbeing and welfare, to deliver pastoral care and safeguarding of the children within their class or groups

**Specific Duties:**
- Plan teaching to achieve progression in pupils' learning through:

- identifying clear teaching and learning objectives for the pupils
- setting tasks which challenge the pupils and ensure a high level of interest, attention, participation and well-being
- setting clear target building on prior attainment
- identifying the needs of individuals and groups within the class, taking note of individual education plans and liaising with the SENCo as required
- planning opportunities to contribute to pupils' literacy and numeracy, and to their personal, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
- Teaching and Class Management:

- establish and maintain a safe environment and purposeful working atmosphere
- manage pupil's behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships
- use effective questioning, listen carefully to pupils, give attention to errors and misconceptions
- use a variety of teaching lessons and critically evaluate own teaching to improve effectiveness
- monitor, assess, record and report, recognise the level at which the pupil is achieving and present informative reports to SLT, governors and parents/carers as required
- Leading KS2:

- play a leading role in ensuring that the quality of teaching and provision in KS2 is outstanding
- exemplify a high standard of teaching, and promoting high expectations for all members of the school community, with proven impact on pupil progress
- operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school
- establish effective working relationships and set a good example through their presentation and personal and professional conduct
- carry out supervision duties as appropriate
- support the school extra-curricular activities

**Skills, qualifications and experience required**:

- experience teaching KS2 pupils, holds a QTS
- experience with leading a phase
- training in teaching phonics

The primary school is based March, heart of Fenland market town, a popular stopping off point for boaters with free moorings, with an elaborate 'Fountain' which was erected to commemorate the coronation of King George V. Excellent road links via A47 fromPeterborough or the A141 from Huntingdon.
