We are currently delivering a year round project in schools and need youth mentors that specialise in Art to join our team.

**Our Mission**

The Peace Ballers project uses immersive diversionary activities including (sport, art & film) as powerful engagement tools to engage, build trust with young people, and provide much needed mental health support through context specific life coaching and 1-1 mentoring. We integrate the key life lessons we teach within the art forms the young people engage with, to dramatically increase effectiveness.

Originally piloted in partnership with the Mayor of London's Sport Unites initiative in an effort to tackle youth violence across the capital, Peace Ballers is now a multi-award winning organisation that has transformed the lives of hundreds of young people. We are currently expanding our team as we launch projects in more London boroughs to scale our impact.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

Art, alongside creative arts and mentoring, is at the heart of Peace Ballers enrichment offering to young people. The Arts offer at Peace Ballers is an exciting and engaging programme challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental Art activities specialising in drawing, painting and more. You will be involved in teaching the fundamentals of art, or range of art activities to young people.

You will be involved in session delivery, planning, preparation, and work with young people closely. You will be provided all the necessary equipment and training and will be afforded plentiful personal development opportunities.

You will be someone with a hands on approach, focused, eager to learn and willing to go the extra mile, all for the benefit of supporting young people. You will demonstrate our values through all you do and will commit to giving your best every session for young people.

General

- To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of young people is promoted and safeguarded, and to report any child protection concerns to the designated Child Protection Officers using the safeguarding policies, procedures, and practice (training to be provided)
- To adhere to Peace Ballers policies at all times, with particular reference to Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities

**Detailed**
- Together with other Youth Mentors and leadership team you will develop and implement a programme of activity that is exciting, challenging and ever changing and which can be easily replicated.
- The role is a blend of face-to-face delivery with young people, with additional responsibility for supporting planning and programming.
- To work directly with young people to develop their physical, psychological technical, social qualities.
- To have great energy and establish positive relationships with young people, staff and other stakeholders such as parents, and corporate partners.
- To work flexibly to ensure the needs of young people are catered for, including disadvantaged young people and those with disabilities or additional needs.
- To ensure that the members maintain a high standard of behaviour and discipline during sessions
- To ensure the participation of young people in activities and ensure that their ideas contribute fully to the delivery of activities in a safe way.
- To actively promote our work and positively contribute towards increasing youth engagement.
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of young people at all times
- To be adaptable and versatile and be able to adapt should sudden changes occur in regards to program delivery.
- Ability to enthuse others, including staff, volunteers, and young people, making the environment fun and the place young people enjoy being at.
