We are currently seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic part time Cleaner to join our team at the Scottish Fisheries Museum. You will be responsible for taking care of our facilities and expected to carry out various cleaning duties.

**Background**

The Scottish Fisheries Museum was founded as a trust and charity in 1969 to preserve, record and interpret the history of the fishing industry in Scotland. It holds collections of over 65,000 artefacts, 74% of which are of international, UK or Scotland-wide importance and so formally received ‘Recognition of National Significance’ status in 2007.

The Museum has full Accreditation status and is graded a four-star visitor attraction by VisitScotland. It houses a Recognised Collection af National Significance and welcomes visitors from near and far throughout the year who enjoy its displays, cafe, shop and other facilities.

**Job Specification**

Your main objective will be to work alongside a small team keeping the Museum in a clean and well-presented condition.

**Day-to-day Duties**:

- Perform various cleaning actions such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, Cleaning Glass Display Cabinets, and restroom Cleaning etc.
- Notify Management of any requirement for repairs or interventions
- Notify Management of any Stock replenishment requirements
- Work alongside other members of Staff
- Follow all Health and Safety Regulations
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by line Manager

**Cleaner Requirements**
- Proven working experience as a cleaner
- Knowledge of various cleaning methods and chemical supplies
- Integrity and good interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation Skills
- Willingness to undertake training as required

**Conditions of Service**

Hours: Minimum 10 hours per week, 7:30 - 9:30 Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to cover weekends as Holiday Cover. Additional payment will be given in respect of extra hours.

Annual Leave: Part time staff have an annual leave entitlement that is pro rata to that of a full-time employee.
