Blue Ribbon Health and Wellbeing (“Blue Ribbon”) is the trading style of a group of companies under common control (Blue Ribbon Healthcare Limited and Cade Care Limited).

Blue Ribbon was established in 2016. We focus on supporting individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities, many of whom can display challenging behaviours.

**About The Role**

We have a vacancy for Support Workers in Blackburn and Accrington. The key responsibilities of this role are:

- To model and promote the company values, driving a positive culture focusing on the needs of the individual you support
- Ensure the individuals that we support always have their personal needs met (which may include personal care, participation in and organising of activities and interests, and general daily living)
- Complete all documentation as required (including updating plans and notes)
- Maintaining a friendly and professional approach, even when managing complex and/or challenging behaviours by the individual
- Ensuring that you understand and adhere to all company policies, seeking guidance when unsure

**About The People That We Need**

Blue Ribbon need people who are creative, resilient and reliable.

The individuals we support can display challenging behaviours. Although we will give our people detailed training, at the end of the day we need people who have the resilience to be positive, even after dealing with a demanding incident. You need to be able to deal positively with individuals irrespectively of how the individuals have treated you, you must be able to forgive and forget and not apportion blame.

We need people who are reliable. Our shifts are designed to be longer so you can have more rest days in between work. Many of our staff will work a full working week over three days allowing them four days to pursue other interests and recharge batteries. This is not a 9 to 5 job. We need people who arrive to their shifts on time as this allows their colleagues to leave on time. We cannot leave individuals without the correct level of support so a no show for a shift puts extra pressure on those coming off a shift. Colleagues must have respect and consideration for each other.

We need people who are creative and willing to come up with new ideas and experiences for the individuals that we support, allowing them to pursue their interests fully.

Supporting individuals can be incredibly rewarding for people with the right mindset. You will be making a difference to some of the most vulnerable people in society.

A good understanding of Autism and Learning Disabilities is helpful, although we provide full training and support if you are new to this sector. Your fit with our Values matters more.

Although you will typically lead a core team supporting a specific individual, we need you to be flexible as you may be required to support other individuals on occasion.

**Other Information**

Our shifts are designed around the individual that you support, these tend to be in 10,12 or 14 hours. This means you can often complete your contracted hours over three days giving you time to recharge or pursue other interests.

We do offer overtime - where you step in to work above your contractual hours we pay a 25% premium on your cont
